WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 30, 2023
- Excessive rain fell during the weekend in western parts of the North China Plain, southeastern Fujian and in a few areas northward from there into Anhui and Jiangsu from the remnants of Typhoon Doksuri
- Rain totals reached over 28.00 inches in southeastern Fujian and ranged from 6.00 to 15.00 inch in the western North China Plain
- Heavy rain also fell in southwestern Luzon Island Philippines where up to 17.00 inches was noted since Friday morning and that followed 10-25 inches of rain west-central and northwestern Luzon earlier last week
- Western India will trend drier this week and that may prove beneficial to summer crops in the region
- Europe will be wetter than usual this week in the north-central and northeast cutting into some late season winter crop harvest progress
- Australia’s southern crops remain favorably rated with timely rainfall supporting winter crop conditions, but more rain is needed in the north
- Argentina will remain drier than usual for another ten days keeping wheat poorly established in the west
- Brazil’s Safrinha harvest weather is expected to remain very good over the next ten days due to limited rain
- Canada’s Prairies and the northern U.S. Plains and upper Midwest will continue struggling for greater precipitation to support the best late season crop development
- Texas and southern Oklahoma as well as most of the far western U.S. will be drier biased for an extended period of time
- U.S. Delta was dry and warm to hot during the weekend will stay that way for a while this week and then some timely rain should resume
- Lower U.S. Midwest and southeastern states should experience well timed rainfall and seasonable temperatures for summer crops
- Indonesia and Malaysia rainfall will remain limited over the next ten days, although the driest conditions are likely through the first half of this week
- Western Thailand and Myanmar still need greater rainfall to ease long term dryness

WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 28, 2023
- Not many changes occurred overnight
- India’s abundant to excessive rainfall of late is expected to take a break lasting a couple of weeks
- The drier bias will develop in this coming week and last through mid-August
- The situation will be closely monitored because it will be imperative that monsoonal rain increases again in late August and/or early September before the season draws to a close
- The break from persistent rain will be welcome for a while
- Indonesia and Malaysia continue to dry out and will need significant rain soon to prevent drying from leading to crop stress
- Rainfall will be erratic for a while and areas of drying are expected to continue
- Flooding in Luzon Island, Philippines continued Thursday, but the heavy rain has begun to abate after 15-25 inches fell in three days
- Western Thailand soil moisture continues well below normal raising concern over rice, sugarcane and corn development
- Northern and east-central Europe will remain wet through the coming week to ten days delaying some small grain harvest and raising a little worry over crop quality
- Western CIS rainfall will also be varied enough that a few areas may be a little too wet at times, especially in interior western Russia
- Net drying is expected from parts of Russia’s Southern Region into western and northern Kazakhstan and neighboring areas of southeastern Russia’s New Lands; temperatures will be trending warmer than usual in this region as well
- No changes in South America weather was advertised today
- Argentina remains too dry in the west
- Brazil Safrinha harvesting is advancing well
- Brazil and eastern Argentina wheat is also rated favorably
- U.S. northwestern Corn and Soybean Belt will remain drier biased during the coming ten days while timely rain occurs in other Midwest locations
- Drying is expected in the U.S. Delta for the coming week to ten days and temperatures will be very warm to hot
- Texas and southern Oklahoma will continue dry and very warm for another ten days
- No changes in Canada’s struggle with dryness; some showers are likely, but no big reversal in dryness or low production potentials is expected
- Tropical Storm Khanun has formed west northwest of Guam and will move toward Shanghai, China this weekend and early next week
- Landfall is possible around Wednesday and the system will become a typhoon this weekend

WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 27, 2023
- Not many changes occurred overnight
- Rain fell in southern Michigan, northern Indiana and northwestern Ohio significantly benefiting crops in that area
- Northwestern U.S. Corn and Soybean Belt will have a tough time getting significant rain to fall for a while, although some showers are expected
- Southwestern U.S. Corn and Soybean Belt and Delta will be hot over the next five days keeping evaporation rates high and inducing new crop stress
- Rain during the August 3-9 period should increase in the lower Midwest and eventually in the Delta to offer some relief from recent dry and hot weather
- Upper U.S. Midwest rainfall may not increase as much during the August 3-9 period, although temperatures should cool down a bit
- Texas and portions of Oklahoma will stay hot and dry for another week
- No changes in Canada’s drought status is expected, despite less excessive heat in the coming ten days
- Mexico’s drought remains serious in the northeast half of the nation
- Europe’s weather is still expected to trend wetter especially in the north and east for a while in the coming ten days which may disrupt some harvest progress
- Western and northern Russia, Ukraine and Belarus will be plenty moist for a while possibly slowing harvest progress
- Russia’s Southern Region, Kazakhstan and southeastern Russia’s New Lands will experience net drying and warm to hot weather over the coming ten days
- No serious changes are expected in China or India during the coming week, but India’s week 2 and week 3 weather is expected to trend drier
- Australia weather will continue wettest in the south during the coming two weeks leaving need for moisture in the north
- Typhoon Doksuri will reach Fujian China Friday as a weak typhoon
- Tropical Depression 06W has formed west of Guam and will become a typhoon in a few days and may threaten Zhejiang and Shanghai, China next week
- Tropical disturbance in eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean may become a tropical cyclone during the weekend or next week, but its track should be over open water in the Atlantic Ocean
- Indonesia and Malaysia rainfall will be lighter than usual for a while leading to the firming of topsoil
- West Central Africa is expected to see drying conditions after recent wet weather in Ghana and southeastern Ivory Coast

WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 26, 2023
- Europe rainfall looks aggressive over the next ten days with Germany and Belarus getting the greatest rain most often
- Other areas in north-central and northeastern Europe will be wet enough to slow harvesting, but the moisture will be good for summer crops
- Some dryness will continue form Russia’s Southern Region into Kazakhstan and a few southeastern Russia New Lands crop areas
- China weather looks plenty wet except from central through western Inner Mongolia and a few neighboring areas where dryness and heat will prevail
- India is still looking at plenty of rain from central through northern parts of the nation with improved soil moisture likely in the Ganges River Basin
- Australia weather will continue good for southern crops, but northern crop areas need rain
- Typhoon Doksuri was located 80 miles north northwest of Luzon Island, Philippines this morning moving northwesterly and producing 115 mph sustained wind speeds.
- Typhoon Doksuri will pass to the west of Taiwan tonight and Thursday before moving into southern Fujian, China late Thursday and Friday producing wind speeds to 90 mph and another 6.00 to 15.00 inches of rain
- A new tropical cyclone will evolve Thursday south southwest of Guam and will be closely monitored for possible impact on Zhejiang and Shanghai, China next week
- Argentina will be dry for at least another 10 days
- Brazil Safrinha crop harvesting is advancing well
- U.S. weather will be typical of mid-summer with periodic showers and thunderstorms and warm weather dominating the coming week with a little cooling in the second week
- Conditions remain a little too dry today from parts of Illinois and Missouri into the Dakotas and Minnesota, though partial relief is expected periodically by the scattered showers and thunderstorms
- Western Midwest temperatures will be very warm for a few days stressing crops in the driest areas
- Less heat is expected in week two of the U.S. Midwest forecast
- Drying is likely in the U.S. Delta over the coming week
- A good mix of rain and sun will continue to impact the southeastern states
- Texas and southern Oklahoma will remain dry and very warm to hot for another week to ten days
- Canada Prairies showers will occur most often in the west, north and far east, although the second week will trend a little wetter in the south

WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 25, 2023
- Super Typhoon Doksuri was less than 50 miles from the northeast coast of Luzon Island, Philippines this morning producing 150 mph wind speeds out about 70 miles from the storm center
- The strongest wind and most adverse conditions should stay out over the ocean between Luzon Island and Taiwan, but many of the smaller islands in the storm’s path will be severely damaged as might some of the coastal areas of northeastern Luzon
- Doksuri is expected to pass to the south of Taiwan, although heavy rain will impact that island as well as northern Luzon
- Doksuri will eventually reach Fujian, China where torrential rain, flooding and 90 mph wind speeds are likely. The storm’s damage may be lighter than feared, but still likely
- A new tropical cyclone will form southwest of Guam later this week and it promises to be another large and powerful storm with possible impact on east-central China; including the Shanghai port region during mid-week next week
- Other tropical cyclones may form in the western Pacific Ocean next week as well
- Not many other changes were noted overnight around the world
- India will continue very wet from central through northern parts of the nation during the next two weeks
- Russia’s western and northern crop areas will be plenty wet along with Ukraine and portions of Belarus possibly threatening winter crop harvesting
- Europe will trend wetter during the next ten days raising some concern over winter crop harvest delays and grain quality
- Net drying is expected from Russia’s Southern Region into northwestern Kazakhstan and the southern Ural Mountain region
- Australia winter crops are semi-dormant and mostly in good shape, but rain is needed in most of the east and in parts of both South Australia and northern Western Australia
- Argentina’s drought will get no relief over the next ten days
- Brazil Safrinha harvest weather will remain good
- Wheat in southern Brazil will remain favorably moist
- Canada’s central and southwestern Prairies will stay too dry for another ten days
- Texas and southern Oklahoma will be hot and dry for the next 8-10 days
- U.S. western Corn and Soybean areas will get little rainfall and experience very warm to hot temperatures over the coming week stressing some crops in the driest areas
- U.S. Delta will dry out over the next full week to nearly ten days

WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 21, 2023
- Hot weather in western and southern parts of North America Thursday will shift into the central parts of the continent for a little while next week resulting in notable crop and livestock stress from southwestern Canada’s Prairies through the U.S. Plains and into a part of the western U.S. Corn and Soybean Belt
- Texas has been and will continue hot through the next ten days
- Excessive heat in the southwestern U.S. will last through the weekend then temporarily subside
- Mexico will also be hot in the northeast where drought is prevailing
- Some relief from the hot and dry weather is expected in the western U.S. Corn and Soybean Belt in the last days of July and early August as scattered thunderstorms evolve along with some cooling
- Western wheat areas in Argentina will continue missing the greatest rain, though some moisture is likely briefly this weekend more notable during mid-week next week; the changes in soil moisture will not be dramatic, but any rain would be better than none
- Rio Grande do Sul and coastal areas from Espirito Santo into Bahia will be wettest in Brazil during the next week; good harvest weather will continue in Safrinha crop areas
- Europe rainfall should slowly improve next week from northeastern France to Poland where it has been quite dry recently
- Europe’s North and Baltic Sea region’s will remain plenty wet while the Mediterranean countries remain dry for the next ten days
- Russia’s Southern Region into Kazakhstan and some neighboring areas of southeastern Russia’s New Lands will receive little rain in the next ten days
- Eastern Russia’s New Lands will trend hotter again in the last days of July and early August
- Tropical Cyclone development east of Philippines into the weekend will become a significant storm that will need to be closely monitored for its potential impact on Taiwan and/or eastern China during mid- to late-week next week
- Damage potentials from this storm could be high due to its predicted intensity
- Xinjiang, China and central and western Inner Mongolia will be very warm and dry over the next ten days stressing crops and livestock
- Australia crop weather is predicted to be favorable for a while, although greater moisture is needed away from the coasts
- Central and northern India will stay plenty wet over the next ten days with flooding most likely from southern Chhattisgarh to southern and western Madhya Pradesh and eastern Maharashtra

WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 20, 2023
- Not many changes overnight
- Hot weather is expected to advance into Canada’s Prairies this weekend and continue through the first half of next week
- Some relief will then occur briefly during mid-week and then warmer conditions may return again later in the week
- Hot weather is also expected in the western United States over this next seven to ten days with some of the heat reaching the northern half of the Great Plains during the late weekend through the first half of next week
- U.S. central Plains and western Corn and Soybean areas will see their hottest weather during early to mid-week with highs in the 90s and lower 100s Fahrenheit
- The hottest weather during mid-week will occur from Missouri, Kansas and southwestern Illinois through Iowa and Nebraska to North Dakota and the southeastern Canada Prairies with readings of 95 to 104 Fahrenheit (35-40C)
- Dry biased weather is likely from Missouri and Illinois to Minnesota and the Dakotas as well much of Saskatchewan and southern Alberta through this first week of the outlook. Most of the far west U.S. include the Pacific Northwest will also be dry and warm
- Showers in the lower U.S. Midwest, Delta and southeastern states will occur periodically over the next two weeks
- Texas will stay hot and dry for much of the next ten days, despite a few random showers
- Week two U.S. Midwest weather will bring a few more showers and thunderstorms to the region, including the northwestern Corn and Soybean Belt, but no general soaking rain is likely
- No changes were noted in South America, Europe, the CIS, China, Australia or India overnight relative to the forecasts from Wednesday

WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 19, 2023
- Today’s weather outlook continues to provide a bullish bias to market mentality because of dryness either present now or developing in the U.S., Canada’s Prairies, Europe, Mexico and Inner Mongolia
- Canada’s Prairies are still facing multiple days of warm to hot and dry weather beginning this weekend and lasting for at least a week and probably ten days – the heat will seriously stress crops and livestock with some crop failure expected in the driest areas and some lost production from many other areas
- U.S. Northern Plains will also experience a net drying bias – mostly in the central and western Dakotas and Montana
- U.S. Pacific Northwest will continue hot and dry for another ten days
- U.S. Midwest temperatures will continue mild for a while longer, but next week will trend warmer and the heat will come with restricted rainfall resulting in some further pressure on yield potentials for corn, soybeans, sugarbeets and other crops
- Texas (mostly south of the Red River) will continue hot and dry for at least another week and possibly for ten days
- Net drying is expected in the U.S. Delta while the southeastern states are favorably moist and will stay that way
- India will be excessively wet in the coming week over some central crop areas
- Most of China will continue to receive sufficient amounts of moisture to support good crop development
- Southern Australia will receive periodic rain to maintain a favorable outlook through the next two weeks
- Southeast Asia rainfall will continue erratic and sometimes light
- Argentina will wait for rain another week – at least
- Southern Brazil weather will be good for improving wheat and supporting Safrinha corn harvesting
