WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR SEPTEMBER 17, 2023
- Rainfall was increased for later this week in the northern U.S. Plains and southeastern Canada
- Eastern U.S. Midwest is advertised to be drier biased for the next ten days relative to that advertised Friday
- A tropical disturbance is advertised to evolve along the lower east coast of the United States late this week resulting in greater rain for the southeastern states and this helps to reinforce the drier biased pattern in the eastern Midwest over the next ten days
- Texas is advertised to trend drier this week after last week rainy weather
- Northwestern U.S. hard red winter wheat areas are advertised to be drier biased through the next ten days
- Gujarat, India received heavy rain during the weekend in western Madhya Pradesh, northeastern Maharashtra and Gujarat (occurring at the time of the this release Sunday evening)
- More flooding occurred in Guangdong, China during the weekend
- Australia is advertised to be drier than usual for much of this week
- Brazil’s center west and center south crop areas will experience greater rain at the end of September and early October which is normal and typical of El Nino years
- Western Argentina will experience some showers late this week and more as we move closer to the end of this month
- Central and interior northern Thailand received heavy rainfall during the weekend
- Weekend frost and freezes impacted central South Africa wheat and barley areas during the weekend
- East-central China will turn wetter for a while this week before drier weather evolves next week
- Ukraine and Russia’s southern region will continue drier than usual for the next ten days
- Europe weather will be wetter biased in the west and north for a little while this week while the southeast is drier biased
- Central Canada’s Prairies will be dry biased over the next ten days
