WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR MARCH 2, 2023
- Southern Argentina rainfall is advertised to increase after March 12 by both the European and GFS Ensemble forecast model runs
- No change was noted in Brazil weather overnight
- GFS model is producing too much moisture across the U.S. Great Plains in the second week of the forecast today
- The southwestern U.S. Plains should continue drier biased, but not totally dry during the next two weeks
- South Texas, northeastern Mexico and the Texas Coastal Bend still need significant moisture to improve spring planting conditions
- Northern U.S. Delta crop areas will experience heavy rainfall in the coming week while sufficient rain occurs in the Midwest to maintain wet field conditions
- More snow is coming to the northern U.S. Plains and upper Midwest Saturday night and Sunday with follow up precipitation possible later next week
- India is still facing warm temperatures and restricted rainfall over the next ten days threatening some of its winter crop
- Eastern China will experience net drying over the coming week except from Sichuan and Hubei to Yunnan where some rain is likely
- Eastern Australia dryland crops and livestock areas will continue quite dry for the next two weeks
- Europe weather will trend wetter after Monday
- Western CIS weather will continue plenty wet for the next ten days
- North Africa still needs greater precipitation in Tunisia and interior northeastern Algeria
- Middle East Precipitation will continue lighter than usual
- South Africa weather will remain favorable
