WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 21, 2023

• Hot weather in western and southern parts of North America Thursday will shift into the central parts of the continent for a little while next week resulting in notable crop and livestock stress from southwestern Canada’s Prairies through the U.S. Plains and into a part of the western U.S. Corn and Soybean Belt
  • Texas has been and will continue hot through the next ten days
  • Excessive heat in the southwestern U.S. will last through the weekend then temporarily subside
• Mexico will also be hot in the northeast where drought is prevailing
• Some relief from the hot and dry weather is expected in the western U.S. Corn and Soybean Belt in the last days of July and early August as scattered thunderstorms evolve along with some cooling
• Western wheat areas in Argentina will continue missing the greatest rain, though some moisture is likely briefly this weekend more notable during mid-week next week; the changes in soil moisture will not be dramatic, but any rain would be better than none
• Rio Grande do Sul and coastal areas from Espirito Santo into Bahia will be wettest in Brazil during the next week; good harvest weather will continue in Safrinha crop areas
• Europe rainfall should slowly improve next week from northeastern France to Poland where it has been quite dry recently
• Europe’s North and Baltic Sea region’s will remain plenty wet while the Mediterranean countries remain dry for the next ten days
• Russia’s Southern Region into Kazakhstan and some neighboring areas of southeastern Russia’s New Lands will receive little rain in the next ten days
• Eastern Russia’s New Lands will trend hotter again in the last days of July and early August
• Tropical Cyclone development east of Philippines into the weekend will become a significant storm that will need to be closely monitored for its potential impact on Taiwan and/or eastern China during mid- to late-week next week
  • Damage potentials from this storm could be high due to its predicted intensity
• Xinjiang, China and central and western Inner Mongolia will be very warm and dry over the next ten days stressing crops and livestock
• Australia crop weather is predicted to be favorable for a while, although greater moisture is needed away from the coasts
• Central and northern India will stay plenty wet over the next ten days with flooding most likely from southern Chhattisgarh to southern and western Madhya Pradesh and eastern Maharashtra
