WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR SEPTEMBER 26, 2023
- Some rain may develop in Argentina’s dry region late next week and into the following weekend; but, until then precipitation should be restricted
- Center west Brazil rainfall is still advertised to be restricted over the next full week limiting planting moisture from Mato Grosso into Goias and northern Mato Grosso do Sul
- Some increase in shower activity will occur during the second week of the outlook
- Center south Brazil rainfall is expected to begin increasing this weekend and continue next week with some significant rain possible from Parana to Minas Gerais and southern Mato Grosso do Sul in time
- Southern Brazil, Uruguay and northeastern Argentina will remain plenty moist over the next ten days to two weeks
- Recent rainfall was favorable for South Africa winter crops and a little more will occur in this coming week, although more would be welcome
- South Australia rainfall will remain restricted through the coming weekend, but next week looks wetter in both the southwest and southeast
- Not much rain is expected in northern crop areas and temperatures will be warmer than usual in much of the nation
- Europe precipitation will be dry biased for a while supporting fieldwork of all kinds
- Some locally heavy rain is expected in Greece over the next two days
- Russia’s Southern Region, middle and lower Volga River Basin and eastern Ukraine rainfall should be minimal for the next ten days
- Heavy rain will return to Georgia this weekend through much of next week with some of the rain to bleed over the Russia border
- Another round of heavy rain is expected from Sichuan to Henan and Jiangsu, China during the second half of this week through the first half of next week
- A favorable mix of rain and sunshine is expected elsewhere in China over the next two weeks
- Xinjiang, China harvest weather will remain good for the next ten days in the primary cotton areas
- Some frost is expected tonight in far northeastern Xinjiang with little to no negative impact on crops
- Western Canada will trend colder and wetter this weekend into next week slowing fieldwork at times
- U.S. rainfall through Thursday will be greatest from Minnesota and Wisconsin to Ohio and Kentucky while net drying occurs in most other areas until next week
- There will be some additional rain in the upper Midwest briefly this weekend
- U.S. hard red winter wheat areas will see restricted rainfall over the coming week and perhaps a little longer
- Cooler and wetter weather is expected in the northwestern U.S. in the next ten days
- Interior parts of U.S. Southeast, northern Delta and portions of West Texas will be dry for a while
