WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 15, 2025

• Less than usual rainfall continues in portions of Sumatra and peninsular Malaysia raising some concern about long term crop development
• Java and the Lesser Sunda Islands are also drying down, but for them that is a little more normal for this time of year
• Western and some central Thailand crop areas have been drier than usual in recent weeks, but rain is expected to develop later this week into next week
• A tropical depression may develop in the next couple of days in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico (America) resulting in abundant rain and some strong thunderstorms from northwestern Florida to the Louisiana coast late this week into the weekend
• Tropical Storm 08W will impact eastern Honshu and Hokkaido, Japan today and Wednesday producing some occasional rain and breezy conditions; the impact on agriculture and personal property should be low
• Portions of France may get some needed rain late this week into the weekend, although much more will be needed
• Drought and dryness in southeastern Europe will continue without much relief for a while
• Eastern Ukraine, Russia’s Southern Region and western Kazakhstan will experience good harvest weather for winter crops
• China’s recent drying in east-central areas may continue for at least another week, despite a few random showers
• Other crop areas in China are in good shape and expected to remain that way
• India’s Telangana and Andhra Pradesh crop areas will get some rain later this week into next week easing recent dryness
  • Other areas in southern and west-central India will continue drier than usual; including interior western and southern Maharashtra
• Argentina will get some rain in wheat areas today and Wednesday and then trend drier again; more rain will be needed in the west
• Safrinha crops in Brazil will experience dry and warm biased weather for the next two weeks resulting in good maturation and harvest conditions
• S Midwest, Northern Plains, Delta and southeastern states should see a favorable mix of weather over the next ten days
• Dry and warm weather will prevail in the U.S. Pacific Northwest
• Net drying and warmer biased weather is expected in the southern U.S. Plains and a part of both the central Delta and southern Tennessee River Basin over the next ten days raising the need for rain late this month and in early August
• Canada’s Southwestern Prairies benefited from rain Monday and northeastern areas may get some needed rain late this weekend into early next week
• Australia weather remains unchanged with greater rain needed in interior crop areas while those near the southern coast are well established
