World Weather Highlights For Monday, October 30, 2023
- Excessive rain and flooding occurred in from southern Paraguay into southern Brazil during the weekend and replanting is expected
- Another 2.00 to 5.00 inches of rain will fall in southern Brazil this workweek and then a week's worth of drying is likely
- Rain prospects are improving for this weekend and next week in center west and northeastern Brazil
- Argentina summer crop planting and southern wheat development conditions are improving
- India and China weather will remain mostly good
- Western and northern Europe will continue to get frequent rain inducing a notable increase in soil moisture and runoff
- Southeastern Europe will continue drier than usual
- Rain and snow are falling frequently in the western CIS easing dryness in many (not all) southern areas
- Western Australia remains too dry
- Eastern Australia dryland cotton and sorghum areas will receive some welcome rain this weekend into next week
- Southeast Asia rainfall is favoring crops except some in southern Indonesia where it is still too dry
- Central Africa rainfall will be increasing to support coffee, cocoa, rice and sugarcane
- Tropical Storm Pilar formed south of El Salvador during the weekend and will move erratically this week bringing some rain to Central America during mid-week
- U.S. harvest weather will improve this week and during the weekend after recent rain and snow
- Drought will continue in the southeastern U.S.
- Cold weather will continue this week in the central United States
