WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JUNE 10, 2024
- Some rain will fall later this week from Eastern Ukraine into western Kazakhstan offering temporary relief to a part of the driest region in the CIS
- Some partial relief to dryness in the North China Plain is also expected in the coming week to ten days
- Crop stress will be eased slowly over time
- Southern China will stay wet
- India’s monsoon will be wettest in interior west-central and the interior south and light in most other areas in the coming ten days
- Frost and a few freezes occurred in northern parts of Russia’s eastern New Lands during the weekend with very little permanent impact
- Frost and a few light freezes also occurred in Alberta and Saskatchewan, Canada during the weekend with little to no lasting impact
- A region of disturbed tropical activity in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico will result in less rain in the U.S. eastern and southern Midwest, Delta, Tennessee River Basin and interior Southeast
- Florida may receive some heavy rainfall
- West Texas may get some needed rain in the first half of this week and then trend drier
- South Texas and the Texas Coastal Bend will remain drier than usual for the coming week and “some” rain may fall next week
- Southwestern parts of Canada’s Prairies and parts of Montana will dry down this week while the eastern and northern Prairies are wet
- S. northeastern Plains and upper Midwest will be wettest in the coming ten days
- Mexico drought will prevail in this coming week with “some” showers expected next week
- Thailand will continue missing needed rain in sugarcane, rice and corn production areas in the interior south and east
- Philippines rainfall will slowly improve over the next few weeks
- Indonesia and Malaysia rainfall will occur favorably into late month
- Portions of France, Spain, Germany and neighboring areas will experience drier weather in the coming week
