WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR NOVEMBER 10, 2023

• Nine to ten days of net drying is still expected in Brazil’s center west and center south crop areas along with some very warm to hot temperatures keeping evaporation rates strong
• Southern Brazil and immediate neighboring areas of Argentina and Uruguay will see waves of rain this weekend through next week resulting in some flooding especially in northern Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina as well as a part of southern Paraguay
• Other areas in Argentina will see a good distribution of rain, though greater rain will still be needed in western Argentina
• North Africa will continue in need of greater rain especially in Algeria and northern Tunisia where “some” showers may occur in the second week of the forecast, but no general soaking is likely
• Northeastern New South Wales, Australia received some welcome rain Thursday
• Eastern Australia will see some other periodic showers and thunderstorms in the next two weeks, but it will be very difficult for rainfall to be great enough to counter evaporation especially in western dryland production areas
• Southern India’s frequent rain is about to end and that should lead to improved crop development and field working conditions
• China’s weather will remain favorable over the next two weeks
• Europe and the western CIS will continue wet biased fort another week to ten days
• U.S. hard red winter wheat areas will remain dry biased for another 7-8 days
• Heavy rain is expected along the Texas and Louisiana coasts this weekend and early next week with some flooding possible
  • A low pressure center along the western U.S. Gulf of Mexico Coast this weekend and early next week is unlikely to become a tropical system, but it will produce 2.00 to more than 6.00 inches of rain by mid-week next week from the Texas coast to southern Alabama and western portions of the Florida Panhandle
• U.S. Delta weather will also be wetter biased next week ending fieldwork for a while
• Greater precipitation is needed in northern and central Oregon as well as the Yakima Valley of Washington
• U.S. eastern Midwest precipitation potentials will improve during after day nine of the forecast
• U.S. southeastern states will see some relief from dryness this weekend and again later next week
• Central and northeastern Mexico will receive some significant rain this weekend into early next week easing dryness in several areas
• A tropical disturbance in the Caribbean Sea may enhance Central America rainfall this weekend into next week
